Great Programs for High School Students to enhance College Applications
Summer Marine Biology Week by International Field Studies
Forfar Field Station is owned and operated by International Field Studies (IFS), a non-profit founded in 1970 dedicated to providing environmental education, scientific experiences, and cultural awareness through experiential learning. This week-long immersive marine biology experience for teens at Forfar Field Station in the Bahamas is perfect for students interested in learning more about marine ecosystems and conservation. Open to students ages 16-17. It will give students the chance to snorkel the world’s third largest fringing barrier reef, learn marine field skills, master hands-on field based research techniques, and enjoy a beginner discover scuba diving course.

Climate Leaders Fellowship
The Climate Leaders Fellowship is a dynamic, youth-led initiative co-hosted by the Stanford University Center for Deliberative Democracy and the Close Up Foundation. Designed for high school students passionate about environmental action, the fellowship empowers young changemakers to identify climate-related challenges in their communities and create impactful, student-led passion projects.
Through guided workshops, peer collaboration, and expert mentorship, students develop and execute projects that address real-world environmental issues—while gaining valuable skills in advocacy, leadership, and community engagement.
